2 layers of red constructing mesh
dimmable neon lamps
The idea for this project was to construct a glowing cube situated at this very important point in the Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich.
For three months in the summer of 1993 this red color was claiming its presence in the public space day and night. The shine of the red mesh in the sun was indiscernibly and seamlessly replaced with a red glow as the day proceeded to dusk. A sensor was measuring the daylight and calculating the amount of neon light to keep the intensity of the color on the same level.
